APPRENTICE VEHICLE TECHNICIAN

Ribblesdale are looking for an Apprentice Technician to join our established Jaguar Land Rover Service department. An interest in Jaguar Land Rover vehicles, comfortable working on a computer, good communication skills and an eagerness to learn are the attributes we are looking for in the right candidate.

The duties of a Service Technician/Mechanic may include:

· Servicing vehicles – carrying out checks and maintenance according to the manufacturers’ guidelines.

· Repairing and replacing faulty parts and components.

· Advising the Service Receptionists about required repairs.

· Producing time estimates.

· Maintaining repair and service records.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking individual to join our team and embark on a long term career, with excellent earning and progression opportunities once you complete your apprenticeship.

TRAINING:

Using a combination of classroom-based training (day release at our local College), e-learning, practical training, and application of learning, you will be guided by your trainers and personal mentor along the road to success.

This apprenticeship combines off-the-job training with on-the-job learning, and you will be supported every step of the way.

On successful completion of the three year programme, you will receive:

· Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard in Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician (Light Vehicle)

· Leading on to JLR specific certifications

· Level 3 in Light Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician

· Award in Automotive Refrigerant Handling (EC842-2006)

· JLR specific certifications

Minimum entry requirements:

GCSE grades 9 – 4 (A – C) or equivalent in English, Maths and two other subjects are required. Lower Grades can be considered with additional training and support provided.

We accept predicted grades and conditional offers can be made based on predicted grades.

Hours; Monday to Friday 8:30 – 17:00 (8 Hour working day)

Saturday 08:00 – 13:00 (on a 1 in 3 rota paid as overtime)

Holidays; 20 Days increasing with time served plus Bank Holidays and Christmas Shutdown
